School Picture Day is this Wednesday, November 6th at 11am!
I’m Michelle Schapiro, a local parent and photographer, and I will be taking school
photos at your school this year. I’m very excited to meet your kids, and take some
natural, lovely photos to showcase who they are at this point in time.
School photos will run much like you’d expect. The teachers will help the kids take
turns in front of the camera, either sitting on a posing stool or standing if that’s not
possible. We’ll have a minute or two to get their best expressions, and then onto the
next. It’s a whirlwind, but it’s really fun.
How to Prepare
To prepare your child for picture day, feel free to dress them in whatever is
comfortable and representative of the kid they are. It’s also helpful for some kids to talk about school photos ahead of time, and even practice a “cheese” or two. Luckily, they’ll have their teachers with them to make them feel at ease, even if being in front of a big camera is an unfamiliar
If you have more than one child at the school, we will do our best to get both
individual shots and siblings together.
After the picture day and next week’s makeup date (11/14), I’ll go through the photos and
find the best one or two to edit and send over to you in a proofing gallery. From
there you can order prints and/or digitals, and all the orders will be sent back to
school for you to pick up. The order deadline will be two weeks after galleries are
sent out, so everyone can have their photos before winter holidays. Packages and
pricing can be found by clicking here, but you do not need to pre-pay or even
decide what you’ll order until you see the photos.
Looking forward to meeting your kids and making some photo magic with them!
